Team Leader – Supported Living Service

About the role

As a Team Leader at Turning Point’s Timberlea service in Watford, you will oversee a 24‑hour supported living environment for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and challenging behaviour. You will ensure high‑quality, person‑centred care that helps service users achieve independence and fulfil their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and update flexible support plans and risk assessments in collaboration with service users, families and professionals.
• Chair meetings, complete Mental Capacity Assessments, Best Interest meetings and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) applications.
• Line‑manage a team of support workers, including rota planning, sickness monitoring, supervisions, appraisals and performance coaching.
• Allocate work, delegate tasks and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with families, friends and external health professionals.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a care team in a fast‑changing environment.
• Experience in the care sector, preferably with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental health needs.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Experience in line management, including rota management, supervision and performance handling.
