Team Leader – Supported Living Services

About the role

At Turning Point we provide 24‑hour supported living for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. As a Team Leader you will oversee a small residential team, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred care that helps service users achieve independence and fulfil their aspirations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and update individual support plans and risk assessments in collaboration with service users, families and health professionals.
• Chair meetings, conduct Mental Capacity Assessments, Best Interest meetings and complete Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) applications.
• Lead and line‑manage a team of support workers, allocating shifts, overseeing rotas, handling sickness, supervisions, appraisals and performance issues.
• Coordinate with external professionals, liaise with health services and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Promote independence by supporting activities such as budgeting, shopping, cooking and community participation.

Required profile

• Experience in the care sector, preferably supporting individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental health needs.
• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast‑changing environment and manage shift patterns.
• Strong communication skills, able to engage with families, professionals and service users.
• Commitment to person‑centred care and continuous improvement.
