Team Manager

About the role

Premier Foods is restructuring its Ashford site and is looking for a Team Manager to lead a multidisciplinary operations team. You will be responsible for delivering safety, quality, delivery, cost, performance and morale targets while fostering an engaging and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and food‑safety standards and promote a positive safety culture.
• Lead line performance to meet output, quality and waste targets, manage changeovers and shift handovers.
• Execute Short Interval Control (SIC) processes, complete DS1 and drive actions into DS2.
• Identify and lead continuous‑improvement projects using structured CI tools.
• Maintain adherence to operational standards, work instructions and maintenance plans, completing governance and MES activities accurately.
• Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, coach a multi‑skilled team and manage performance issues.
• Encourage team engagement, plan resources to meet production needs and support site culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams in a regulated food‑manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of food‑safety standards (Food Safety Level 3, HACCP Level 3) and familiarity with BRCGS or ISO 22000.
• Ability to analyse performance data and understand basic financial drivers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to influence peers and senior stakeholders.
