About the role

Northumberland County Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead a locality team of social workers and care managers. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality support to vulnerable adults, working closely with primary care and the wider Care and Support service across the county.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of social workers and care managers.
  • Manage staff workload, workflows, supervision and appraisal processes.
  • Oversee safeguarding of adults and contribute to service development.
  • Account for a delegated health and social care budget for the locality.
  • Ensure quality assurance of social work practice and promote a learning culture.

Required profile

  • Post‑qualification experience in social work.
  • Proven experience supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Strong leadership and strategic skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across the county.
