Tech Lead

About the role

Surplus AI is seeking a visionary Tech Lead to own, architect, and scale its two core AI‑driven SaaS products. This equity‑only position is aimed at candidates with a co‑founder mindset who can drive technical milestones aligned with multiple acceleration programs.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical roadmap, architecture, and deployment pipeline for both core products.
• Scale AI/ML decision engines, dynamic pricing modules, and inventory balancing systems integrated with enterprise POS, ERP, and e‑commerce platforms.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, system security (including GDPR compliance), and cloud infrastructure scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a strong engineering culture.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience building B2B SaaS products with microservices and data‑driven architectures.
• Ownership‑driven mindset capable of thriving in a fast‑paced, milestone‑driven startup.
• Fluent English communication skills.
