Technical Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a leading insurance business to hire a Technical Accountant on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role sits at the intersection of Finance, Data, and IT, supporting financial reporting, data‑warehouse calculations, and process automation during a period of transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between Finance and Data teams.
• Review, validate, and reconcile premium and acquisition cost calculations.
• Investigate discrepancies and support month‑end close activities.
• Strengthen financial controls and improve reporting processes.
• Assist with the implementation of new products and reporting requirements within the Data Warehouse.
• Participate in testing, finance transformation initiatives, and automation projects.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual reporting through technology and AI.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of insurance accounting principles.
• Proven experience with financial data, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort handling large datasets.
• Experience collaborating across Finance, Data, and IT functions.
• Proactive mindset for process improvement and automation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
