Technical Accountant – Statutory Reporting & Technical Accounting

About the role

The Technical Accountant will join a fast‑growing multi‑site organisation in Milton Keynes, supporting the Group Technical Accountant with statutory reporting and technical accounting across the UK Group.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements under FRS 102 for individual entities and, where appropriate, consolidated groups.
• Compile supporting schedules, disclosure checklists and working papers, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, Companies Act requirements and Group policies.
• Research accounting matters arising under FRS 102, UK company law and other technical guidance, analysing the impact of new standards and regulatory developments.
• Draft technical accounting papers and maintain UK Group accounting policies, documenting facts, requirements and recommended treatments.
• Assist with reconciliations of statutory accounts to underlying records and support year‑end timetable delivery.

Required profile

• Ability to support the Group Technical Accountant in delivering high‑quality statutory reporting.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and handling complex accounting disclosures.
• Capability to research and summarise technical accounting requirements.
• Willingness to escalate complex or uncertain matters to senior accountants.

Required skills

• FRS 102 statutory accounting
• UK Companies Act and related accounting standards
• IFRS knowledge (where relevant)
• HGB familiarity (where relevant)
