Technical Author – Engineering Publications

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to join a long‑standing technical publications team supporting a world‑class engineering manufacturer. You will create and maintain high‑quality technical documents, specifications, and engineering drawings for a global customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update technical publications, build plans, and test procedures used by manufacturing and customer teams.
• Interpret and reference engineering drawings, CAD models, production standards, and analysis records.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and production departments to resolve technical queries.
• Review and proofread documents to ensure compliance with internal quality standards.
• Participate in hands‑on validation using tooling, equipment, and engineering processes.

Required profile

• Strong experience producing technical publications within engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Excellent understanding of industry standards and technical communication methods.
• Practical exposure to mechanical engineering concepts and simplified technical English.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a supportive team.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds in Technical Communication) are beneficial but not mandatory.
