Technical Buyer – Procurement Role

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑focused Technical Buyer to join our fast‑growing team in Stevenage. You will source a wide range of technical products for sectors such as Defence, Aerospace, Automotive and Medical, ensuring cost‑effective and reliable supply.

Key responsibilities

• Source technical products, materials and services with focus on cost, quality, availability and lead times.
• Negotiate pricing, supplier terms and commercial agreements.
• Manage RFQs, track supplier performance and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Resolve supply challenges quickly, including shortages and lead‑time pressures.
• Collaborate with sales, technical and operations teams to meet customer requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum one year experience in technical buying, purchasing or procurement.
• Confident negotiator with strong commercial detail management.
• Proactive, resilient and solution‑oriented.
• Excellent communicator able to build supplier, customer and internal relationships.

Required skills

• Experience with purchasing, ERP and RFQ or supplier management systems.

What we offer

• Salary range £35,000 – £38,000 per year plus a bonus every six months.
