Technical Delivery Manager

About the role

This position sits at the centre of the organisation's IT function, ensuring that technology is designed, delivered and embedded to support operational performance and future innovation across a large defence infrastructure programme.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and shape secure, scalable solutions while maintaining service quality and reliability.
• Influence technical direction, challenge vendors and make architecture and delivery decisions.
• Oversee connectivity and cloud services, ensuring high availability, strong security and effective incident and change management.
• Manage third‑party suppliers to meet contractual obligations and best‑practice standards.
• Support the Head of IT in strategy development, process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and guide the IT team, building capability and reducing dependency risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical delivery and leadership within complex, multi‑partner environments.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, working closely with business units and the wider IT function.
• Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, contracts and service level agreements.
• Experience in maintaining resilient, high‑performing IT environments, including cloud and connectivity services.
• Capability to contribute to IT strategy, process improvement and mentorship of technical staff.
