About the role

Miller Homes is seeking a Technical Director to lead its South‑West Technical team. Based in Bristol, you will oversee the performance of the Technical Department, provide strategic technical advice, and support land acquisition due‑diligence across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and technical support at regional level.
• Shape and develop a professional technical team with a strong work ethic and reputation.
• Ensure the team remains creative, innovative, commercially aware and committed to continuous professional development.
• Take responsibility for all design and engineering disciplines within the regional function.
• Advise on planning and technical matters as part of the regional management team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior technical role, ideally within a volume housebuilder.
• Strong understanding of current and emerging technical guidance and legislation.
• Visionary leadership with excellent time‑management and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to set clear objectives and give decisive instructions.
