Technical Field Supervisor

About the role

The Technical Field Supervisor will be based on‑site in Manchester, overseeing day‑to‑day technical operations on residential construction projects. You will ensure that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the high design and quality standards expected by Sheridan FM Ltd.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate multiskilled field teams on residential sites.
• Monitor project progress, conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors and suppliers, communicating updates and risks.
• Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, health and safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports and schedules.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of safety and quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in residential construction or property development, preferably in a supervisory or site‑management capacity.
• Strong supervisory and team‑management abilities.
• Solid analytical skills to interpret reports, drawings and inspections.
• Clear, professional communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Manchester, manage multiple priorities and stay calm under pressure.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK building regulations.
• Understanding of health and safety standards and construction best practices.
• Hands‑on technical support experience in construction or building services.
• Proficiency with basic IT tools and construction‑related software for reporting, scheduling and documentation.
• Relevant technical or construction‑related qualification.
