Technical Lead – Financial Services CISO Programme

About the role

We are supporting a leading UK financial services organisation on a high‑profile CISO transformation programme. This is a hands‑on technical leadership position where you will take technical designs through to implementation, rather than staying purely at an architectural level.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and deployment of identity and access solutions across Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Automate and manage infrastructure using PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Azure services.
• Maintain and optimise Citrix infrastructure, including CVAD and related components.
• Apply ITIL and service‑management best practices within a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with security teams on service hardening, MFA implementation and Red‑Team remediation activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role, preferably within financial services or other regulated sectors.
• Strong background in identity management, cloud platforms and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross‑functional security programme.

What we offer

• 3–6 month contract with potential extension.
• Hybrid working – London or Edinburgh, one day per week onsite.
• Day rate £600–£650 (inside IR35).
