Technical Lead - FX Trading Technology (Java)

About the role

You will lead the design and delivery of a mission‑critical FX trading platform used by traders and sales teams worldwide. This hands‑on technical leadership position focuses on shaping architecture and driving the development of high‑performance, scalable Java applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and architecture for a front‑office FX trading platform covering Spot, Forwards and NDF products.
• Develop and enhance enterprise‑scale Java applications using Spring, Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, traders and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices: code reviews, design reviews, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor and coach developers through pair programming and technical guidance.
• Participate throughout the Agile lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production deployment.
• Provide third‑line support for production releases and ensure platform reliability and performance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience developing enterprise Java applications in banking or capital‑markets environments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate and REST APIs.
• Proven ability to design scalable, distributed, high‑availability systems.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns and engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with business stakeholders.
• Experience with FX trading systems (Spot, Forwards, NDFs) is highly desirable.
