Technical Manager (Live Events)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager with a strong AV background to lead the technical delivery of high‑profile conferences, gala dinners, sporting events and other live productions in a state‑of‑the‑art venue. You will be the go‑to expert, translating creative briefs into safe, smooth and technically flawless events.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver AV, LED, lighting, sound and rigging setups for a variety of events.
• Produce technical specifications and CAD plans, ensuring they align with client and creative requirements.
• Supervise, schedule and coach in‑house staff, freelancers and casual workers on‑site.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, inventory management, PAT testing and upgrades.
• Coordinate with clients, promoters and internal teams to ensure seamless execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a live‑event AV technician or technical manager.
• Strong expertise in LED technology and large‑format screen installations.
• Ability to read and create technical drawings using CAD software (Vectorworks or equivalent).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a commitment to health and safety standards.
