About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Manager to join a well‑established and growing manufacturing business supplying specialist products across multiple industrial sectors. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the technical function, driving new technologies and supporting ambitious growth plans.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and CNC Programmers.
- Own New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through to production launch.
- Manage manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality and safety.
- Develop and execute technical strategy to support capacity expansion and business growth.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and other methodologies.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, HSE and Commercial teams.
- Plan factory layout, optimise processes and oversee CAPEX projects.
- Support implementation and ongoing development of a new ERP system.
- Champion innovation through automation, Industry 4.0 initiatives and emerging technologies.
- Maintain engineering standards, technical governance and change‑management processes.
Required profile
- HNC/HND or degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering or CNC Programming.
- Successful delivery of NPI projects.
- Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous‑improvement techniques.
- Experience with manufacturing layout planning and process optimisation.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
