Technical Product Owner – Software Development

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to join a well‑established software development business in Crewe. You will act as the bridge between external clients and the internal development team, translating business needs into clear, actionable specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business requirements from clients and stakeholders.
• Lead discovery workshops and requirements‑gathering sessions.
• Translate requirements into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure technical feasibility.
• Develop a deep understanding of the existing software platform and its functionality.
• Use SQL and data analysis to investigate system behaviour and support solution design.
• Act as the primary liaison between clients, business stakeholders and the development team.
• Support delivery of new features, enhancements, integrations and reporting solutions.
• Define acceptance criteria and assist with user acceptance testing and quality assurance.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst in a software development or technology environment.
• Proven ability to gather, analyse and document complex business requirements.
• Experience producing detailed functional specifications, user stories or technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of software development processes.
