Technical Project Manager – Capital Projects (Mechanical)

About the role

The role is a senior Technical Project Manager position within a large NHS organisation’s Capital Projects Team, responsible for delivering complex, high‑value estate developments across Surrey and the South East.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of major capital schemes from inception to completion, including new builds, refurbishments and backlog maintenance.
• Provide technical expertise across mechanical and electrical disciplines and support the wider capital programme.
• Manage consultants, contractors and procurement processes in line with frameworks and governance.
• Oversee budgets, business cases and financial management of multi‑million‑pound projects.
• Support strategic estate planning and capital programme delivery.
• Engage with clinical, operational and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in construction, engineering, surveying or a related discipline.
• Significant experience managing complex capital projects, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Strong commercial and budget management capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
