Technical Project Manager – DNS & Core Network Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the upgrade, resilience and regulatory compliance of a national DNS environment for a tier‑1 UK telecommunications provider. The role sits at the intersection of Core IP, Cybersecurity and Network Operations, delivering high‑availability system upgrades across Authoritative DNS, Recursive DNS Cache and essential security platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end lifecycle delivery for core DNS infrastructure, including authoritative, recursive/cache and security platform deployments.
• Coordinate with Core IP Engineering, Cyber Security, Product, Commercial teams and external technology vendors.
• Manage compliance reporting, risk assessments and mitigation plans in line with UK Telecommunications Security Regulations and audit frameworks.
• Track delivery performance against strict compliance KPIs and proactively escalate risks or operational gaps.
• Support the development of updated DNS lifecycle procedures and incident‑response frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering technical network projects within a telecommunications, ISP or regulated carrier environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage Core Network/Core IP infrastructure projects (DNS, DDI, IP networks, mobile core or fibre).
• Project Management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, SAFe or Scrum.
• Strong knowledge of telecom security controls, access management and supply‑chain risk.
• Excellent communication, documentation and senior stakeholder management skills.

• Carrier‑grade DNS platforms (authoritative DNS, recursive/cache DNS, Infoblox, BIND, Nominum).
• Core IP networking and DDI concepts.
