Technical Storekeeper

About the role

The Technical Storekeeper supports the Stores Supervisor and MT Manager in the day‑to‑day operation of the Adventurous Training store at the Robson Resilience Centre. This customer‑facing position ensures that specialist outdoor equipment and clothing are issued, received, maintained and recorded accurately, helping to deliver high‑quality training for RAF personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Manage safe storage of clothing, equipment and specialist assets in line with health‑and‑safety standards.
• Issue and receive equipment for students and staff, maintaining detailed loan records.
• Maintain PPE records and technical equipment logs for activities such as mountain biking, water sports, caving, climbing and high‑ropes.
• Perform routine technical maintenance on specialist items, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
• Keep storage areas organised, clean and ready for rapid deployment.

Required profile

• Experience in storekeeping, inventory control or equipment maintenance, preferably in an outdoor or training environment.
• Ability to follow health‑and‑safety and PPE guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
• Good communication skills for interacting with staff and trainees.

Required skills

• Equipment maintenance (e.g., mountain bikes, canoes, climbing gear).
• Inventory management and stock control.
• Use of logbooks and record‑keeping systems.
