Technical Support & Application Engineer (Industrial Automation)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Support & Application Engineer to join a leading industrial automation company in Ivybridge. You will provide expert pre‑ and post‑sales support for soft starters and motor control products, working closely with customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑ and post‑sales technical support for soft starters and motor control products.
• Review customer requirements and recommend optimal solutions.
• Support product selection, commissioning, troubleshooting and training.
• Assist sales teams with proposals, presentations and customer visits.
• Build relationships with customers, OEMs and distributors.
• Contribute to product development, marketing content and market insights.
• Travel as required to support customers and events.

Required profile

• Qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree) or related discipline.
• Experience in motor control, drives, or industrial automation.
• Strong technical understanding and ability to read schematics.
• Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills.
• Organised, proactive and commercially aware.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
