Technical Support Engineer (Product Solutions)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to act as the technical authority for waste‑management and recycling machinery. You will keep client equipment running, coordinate breakdowns, plan installations, and provide on‑site interventions while upskilling our Field Service Team and global dealer network.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Customer Care by organizing, troubleshooting, and prioritising breakdown and service job schedules.
• Travel globally to customer and dealer sites to perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and commissioning of balers and compactors.
• Create detailed technical plans, review schematics, and define resources and timelines for new installations.
• Identify knowledge gaps and deliver targeted training for internal teams and international dealers.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to resolve critical equipment failures.
• Document field failure modes and collaborate with the Product Solutions Manager to drive product improvements.

Required profile

• Degree, diploma or certified apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience with industrial machinery, preferably waste compactors or balers.
• Proven ability to plan and execute multi‑day machinery installations.
• Valid passport and driver’s licence with flexibility to travel locally and internationally on short notice.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical and dealer audiences.

Required skills

• Hydraulic system diagnostics and repair (valves, pumps, cylinders).
• PLC troubleshooting, relay testing and wiring loom maintenance.
• Mechanical troubleshooting of heavy‑duty equipment.
• Installation planning and execution for large‑scale machinery.
• Use of field service management software/CRM for job tracking and reporting.
