Technical Support Manager – Aerospace & Defence

About the role
Thales is seeking a Technical Support Manager to deliver proactive technical and logistical support to end‑users and provide on‑site assistance at the IOS Office in Culdrose. You will act as the primary liaison for Crowsnest/ORIMOS customers and internal Thales stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Crowsnest/ORIMOS technical queries, modification standards, component part numbers, Technical Publications, and Aircraft Specific Support Equipment.
- Coordinate with Thales internal teams, LM, MoD PT and other users to ensure fault investigation actions are completed.
- Address technical concession requests and support internal/external progress reporting.
- Provide input to peer reviews and supply technical data/analysis for DRACAS and Obsolescence processes.
- Organise and execute technical support activities at customer sites.
- Identify Technical Publications update needs and manage closure of unsatisfactory feature reports.
- Coordinate validation, issuance and compilation of Technical Instructions.
Required profile
- Technical or engineering support experience in aerospace, defence, avionics or similarly complex systems.
- Proven ability to investigate, diagnose and resolve technical faults, including participation in formal fault investigations.
- Strong background working with Technical Publications, modification standards and part‑number control.
- Experience coordinating activities across MoD, OEMs, engineering teams and end users.
- Hands‑on involvement in DRACAS or comparable corrective‑action processes.
- Experience managing technical instructions, updates, concessions or configuration‑controlled documentation in a regulated environment.
- Desirable: experience with airborne mission systems (Crowsnest, Merlin, AEW, radar, sensors) and familiarity with MoD engineering processes (DEF STANs, JSPs).
