Technical Trainer – Automotive Vehicles

About the role

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Technical Trainer to deliver automotive training on commercial vehicles. The role is open to ex‑military personnel but welcomes all applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical training in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements.
• Complete administrative duties and monitor learner progress throughout their learning journey.
• Assist with and develop resources for the automotive department.
• Promote equality, diversity and employability skills within training sessions.
• Liaise with colleagues and the assessing team to focus on learner success and achievement.

Required profile

• Comprehensive knowledge of modern vehicle technology, preferably trucks and the DAF Trucks brand.
• Hands‑on experience of repair and maintenance techniques for modern vehicles or a relevant qualification.
• Excellent and adaptable communication skills.
• Experience in the design and delivery of technical training.
• Ability to plan and organise to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and a flexible, team‑working approach.
• Clean and current driving licence (occasional travel within the UK and Europe may be required).

Required skills

• Knowledge of modern vehicle technology (trucks, DAF Trucks).
• Repair and maintenance techniques for modern vehicles.
