Technology Cyber and Security Summer Internship, Knutsford

About the role

Barclays is offering a 10-week summer internship in its Technology Cyber and Security programme, based in Knutsford. The internship supports the day-to-day operations of the Chief Security Office, providing insights and expertise that help support the business area's vision and mission. It is open to students in their penultimate year of university who are graduating in 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Work with experts across teams to help reduce risk, protect customers and clients and provide a world-class service.
• Identify opportunities to improve agility and develop an agile, intelligence-led approach to security delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business projects and initiatives.
• Take responsibility for managing risk and strengthening controls in the work you own, and escalate breaches of policy or procedure appropriately.
• Advise and influence decision-making within your area of expertise, and partner with other functions and business areas.

Required profile

• Student in the penultimate year of university, graduating in 2028.
• Genuine interest in technology, strong problem-solving skills and drive to deliver innovative solutions.
• In-depth technical knowledge and experience in the assigned area of expertise, with a thorough understanding of its underlying principles.
• Visa sponsorship is accepted for eligible candidates; those not eligible for a skilled worker visa must have their own right to work in the UK from June 2027 to August 2027.
