Technology Director

About the role

We are looking for a senior technology leader to turn So Energy’s business strategy into a product, data, AI and technology capability that makes sustainable energy simple. Reporting directly to the CEO and joining the Senior Leadership Team, you will shape the future of our tech function while working in a hybrid setting in Chiswick, London.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technology, product, data and AI strategy and translate it into a clear roadmap.
• Manage the technology P&L, control spend and continuously reduce cost‑to‑serve.
• Unify engineering, product, IT and data under a single delivery model with clear accountability.
• Ensure platform reliability, security and performance against defined KPIs while meeting regulatory obligations.
• Set standards for safe and responsible AI use across the business.
• Build, coach and retain a high‑performing technology leadership team.
• Manage key supplier and partner relationships, especially with cloud providers.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technology functions at scale, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Strong commercial discipline with a track record of managing budgets and P&L.
• Ability to balance rapid innovation with security, compliance and governance.
• Excellent communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
