Telephone Business Development Manager – Bridging & Commercial

About the role

We are looking for a confident communicator with a strong background in bridging finance to join our growing team. In this telephone‑focused Business Development Manager position you will build and nurture relationships with intermediaries, turning enquiries into successful deals.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively create, manage and develop relationships with intermediaries to meet new‑business targets.
• Promote West One’s bridging products, clearly articulating criteria, processes and unique selling points.
• Assess enquiries via phone and email, structure deals and produce terms/quotes within SLA.
• Follow up on issued terms, overcome objections and progress opportunities to successful applications.
• Support regional field BDMs by engaging new, existing and lapsed intermediaries.
• Book and host online meetings to present the bridging proposition.
• Keep intermediaries updated on product changes, criteria, pricing and processes.
• Log all activities accurately in Hubspot CRM.
• Monitor competitor products and broader mortgage market trends.

• Strong telephone manner with the ability to influence and build rapport quickly.
• Excellent multitasking, deadline‑driven and service‑oriented.
• Confident in handling objections and converting opportunities.
• Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, results‑driven and highly organised.
• Proactive team player who can also work independently.
