Telephony Engineer – eDV Cleared

About the role

This position supports a large‑scale secure communications transformation programme, migrating legacy telephony platforms to modern unified communications solutions. The role is based on‑site in London and requires an active eDV clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, test and deploy SIP, VoIP, SBCs and cloud‑based voice platforms.
• Lead migration activities such as number porting, handset roll‑out, endpoint onboarding and legacy system decommissioning.
• Troubleshoot call routing, integration and incident issues across telephony, network and endpoint layers.
• Build and configure gateways, trunks, routing policies and voice services.
• Conduct site discovery, audits and migration planning, including cut‑over and pilot deployments.
• Perform functional, fail‑over and user‑acceptance testing, validating voicemail, hunt groups, call flows and contact‑centre functionality.
• Produce technical documentation, configuration records and implementation guides.
• Collaborate with suppliers, network teams and managed service providers, communicating progress to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Telephony, Voice or Unified Communications Engineer.
• Active eDV security clearance.
• Hands‑on experience delivering telephony migrations or transformation programmes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across telephony, network and endpoint technologies.
