Television Licence Field Officer

About the role

As a Television Licence Field Officer you will support TV Licensing by visiting households in the Swindon (SN) area, explaining licence requirements and helping customers resolve any issues. You will work independently, managing your own schedule and travelling locally from home using a company vehicle or your own car.

Key responsibilities

• Visit residential addresses throughout the SN postcode area where no TV licence is recorded.
• Engage with customers professionally, explaining TV Licensing obligations and available options.
• Set up payment plans where appropriate and record visit outcomes using mobile technology.
• Make informed decisions in the field and, when required, attend court as part of the enforcement process.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to health and safety guidelines while travelling.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence (essential) and residence within the SN postcode area.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional and resilient in a variety of customer situations.
• Strong problem‑solving, judgement and attention to detail.
• Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
• Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile devices and applications.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
