Temporary Accommodation Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Temporary Accommodation Team Leader to manage a busy team delivering high‑quality housing management services to homeless households in temporary accommodation. The role involves overseeing accommodation stock, tenancy sustainment, repairs, voids, and landlord relationships while ensuring compliance with legislation and health‑and‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Temporary Accommodation Officers.
• Oversee management of temporary accommodation, including voids, lettings, repairs and compliance matters.
• Monitor landlord and accommodation provider performance and escalate issues as needed.
• Manage complex tenancy, safeguarding, anti‑social behaviour and homelessness cases.
• Respond to complaints, member enquiries and other escalated casework.
• Drive service improvements and ensure performance targets are achieved.
• Support tenancy sustainment initiatives to help residents maintain accommodation and move into settled housing.

Required profile

• Experience leading or supervising teams within temporary accommodation, homelessness, or housing management.
• Strong knowledge of homelessness and housing legislation, including the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act.
• Experience managing landlord relationships and accommodation providers.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality services and improving team performance.
• Ability to manage a demanding workload in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

What we offer

• £26.68 per hour PAYE or £35.48 per hour Umbrella.
• Hybrid working – 2‑3 days in the office, remainder remote.
• 36 hours per week, Monday‑Friday.
• Initial 6‑month temporary assignment with potential for extension.
• Immediate start.
