Temporary Accounts Assistant – Liverpool

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and organised Temporary Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at our Liverpool headquarters. The role provides cover for three months, supporting day‑to‑day operations of the purchase and sales ledgers, month‑end processes and general administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly purchase invoices in Sage and post them accurately.
• Prepare and distribute weekly creditors reports and reconcile supplier statements.
• Investigate invoice discrepancies, chase missing invoices and maintain a tidy purchase ledger.
• Prepare, post and issue monthly sales invoices to venues and customers.
• Chase outstanding debts, manage debtor collections and reconcile customer accounts.
• Produce daily sales reports, post month‑end pre‑payment journals and post direct‑cost journals for management reporting.
• Assist with month‑end reconciliations, reporting activities and ad‑hoc finance projects.
• Provide general office and administrative support as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance administration role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel – spreadsheets, formulas and data analysis.
• Sage accounting software.

• Salary of £28,250 per annum (pro‑rata).
• Fixed‑term contract for three months (01/08/2026 – 31/10/2026).
