Temporary Caretaker / Handyperson – Hounslow

About the role

We are looking for a practical, reliable and compassionate temporary caretaker/handyperson to support a remediation programme in Hounslow. You will work closely with third‑party contractors to prepare residential properties for treatment, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents in packing and boxing personal belongings for treatment.
• Move furniture and household items to provide access for remediation work.
• Safely dispose of unwanted or heavily infested items.
• Carry out steam‑treatment of flats after receiving full training and following approved procedures.
• Maintain clean, tidy and safe communal and working areas.
• Report any concerns or issues to the housing team promptly.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a caretaker, maintenance, handyman or facilities role.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving household items safely.
• Approachable, patient and confident when working in residents’ homes.
• Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
• Good communication skills and a flexible, positive attitude.

Required skills

• Steam treatment equipment operation.
• Pest control procedures.
