Temporary Computer Science Lecturer (FE)

About the role

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Computer Science Lecturers for temporary assignments with a range of well‑established further education providers in South East England. The role involves delivering engaging lessons that develop learners' technical knowledge, problem‑solving abilities and practical computing skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Computer Science lessons.
• Teach learners across a variety of levels and abilities.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress.
• Provide constructive feedback and academic support.
• Maintain accurate records in line with college requirements.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support learners in developing practical computing, programming, networking and cybersecurity skills.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Computer Science, Computing, IT, Software Engineering or a related subject.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Computer Science in further education, higher education, secondary education or adult learning.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
