Temporary Cook (Thame)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Temporary Cook to join a busy café‑style kitchen in Thame. The role starts at the beginning of August and will continue on an ongoing basis, offering a steady schedule of morning and midday service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes to a high standard.
• Handle orders efficiently during busy service periods.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety practices at all times.
• Support menu planning and daily food preparation.
• Keep kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils clean and organised.
• Work collaboratively with team members, assisting colleagues as needed.
• Manage stock rotation and report any shortages.

Required profile

• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
• Level 3 Food Hygiene / Food Safety Certificate (essential).
• Proven experience working as a chef in a professional kitchen, preferably in a café or daytime service environment.
• Ability to work independently and handle busy service periods.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Reliability and a positive, proactive attitude.

What we offer

• Hourly rate between £14 and £17, dependent on experience.
• Shifts from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, 4‑5 days per week.
