Temporary Credit Controller – up to £18 per hour

About the role

A well‑established organisation based in Colchester is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join its high‑performing finance team on a temporary basis. You will work in a supportive, collaborative environment and report directly to the Financial Director.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the sales ledger and ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
• Chase overdue invoices via phone and email.
• Allocate incoming payments and reconcile accounts.
• Build strong relationships with customers to resolve queries efficiently.
• Produce aged debt reports and provide updates to senior management.
• Support the wider finance team with ad‑hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Good Excel and finance system skills.
• Own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
