Temporary Electoral Canvasser – Door‑to‑Door

About the role
Northumberland County Council is seeking temporary door‑to‑door canvassers to support the annual electoral register update. You will visit households in a designated area, encouraging residents to complete the Canvass Form.
Key responsibilities
- Visit allocated households at suitable times, including evenings and weekends.
- Encourage residents to complete and return the Canvass Form.
- Collect stationery from County Hall on the scheduled date.
- Attend an informal web‑based discussion as part of the onboarding process.
Required profile
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Own transport with appropriate business insurance.
- Ability to work alone in outdoor conditions.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Required skills

- Hourly rate of £12.85 plus accrued annual leave pay.
- Mileage reimbursement at NJC rates for agreed travel.
