Temporary Finance Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Temporary Finance Assistant to support our finance team during a busy period. The role starts immediately and runs on a four‑day week (Monday‑Thursday), providing hands‑on experience with Sage accounting software and a variety of day‑to‑day finance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and match them to purchase orders using Sage.
• Raise and process sales invoices and credit notes.
• Post and allocate customer receipts.
• Reconcile supplier statements, resolve discrepancies and run supplier payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with credit control.
• Support month‑end processes including journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records in Sage and handle finance queries from suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide ad‑hoc accounting and administrative assistance to the finance team.

Required profile

• Recent hands‑on experience using Sage accounting software (within the last two years).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and basic data manipulation.
• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar role.
• Good understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes.
• High level of accuracy and the ability to work independently.
