Temporary Maths Lecturer – Flexible Teaching Role

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Maths Lecturer for a temporary assignment with a well‑established further education provider in Liverpool. The role offers immediate start, flexible hours and the chance to support learners across GCSE and Functional Skills programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Maths lessons for a range of ability levels.
• Teach GCSE and Functional Skills Maths curricula.
• Assess learner progress, record outcomes and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate teaching records in line with college policies.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
• Contribute to learner retention, achievement and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Mathematics or a related subject.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) is desirable.
• Experience teaching Maths in further education, secondary or adult learning settings.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
