Temporary Project Worker

About the role

We are looking for a Temporary Project Worker to join our homelessness support team at John Baker House in Salisbury. This six‑month position offers the chance to make a tangible difference for adults who have experienced homelessness, helping them rebuild independence and confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Support customers in developing independence and achieving personal goals.
• Assess individual needs, update support plans and act as the first point of contact for queries.
• Build respectful, person‑centred relationships that protect privacy and dignity.
• Collaborate with external partners to promote health, wellbeing, education and employment opportunities.

Required profile

• Experience working with adults who have experienced homelessness.
• Positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills with good literacy and numeracy.
• Willingness to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or already hold it).

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and similar IT tools.
