Temporary Retail Sales Assistant

About the role

You will join a small team of 4‑6 staff at Machine Mart in Blackfen, delivering an excellent customer experience in a fast‑paced retail environment. The role is temporary, offering up to 45 hours per week with any extra time paid or taken as time off in lieu.

Key responsibilities

• Explain technical workshop equipment and power tools in clear, understandable terms.
• Provide honest advice, build rapport and reassure customers when faced with many product choices.
• Achieve challenging sales targets while maintaining high service standards.
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet store objectives.

Required profile

• Previous experience selling technical products to customers.
• Background in retail customer‑service environments.
• Hands‑on knowledge of workshop power tools and related product ranges.
• Strong accuracy, numeracy and basic computer literacy.
• Self‑motivated with a proactive, can‑do attitude.
