Temporary Secondary School Cover Supervisor (Surrey & West Sussex)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cover Supervisor to provide short‑term teaching cover across secondary schools in Surrey and West Sussex. This temporary position is ideal for individuals with experience working with secondary‑age pupils or those eager to start a career in education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Maintain classroom order, discipline and a positive learning environment.
• Prepare teaching materials and set up any required equipment.
• Monitor student progress and give constructive feedback.
• Adapt teaching approaches to suit the needs of different classes.

Required profile

• Experience working with secondary‑age students is highly advantageous.
• Strong desire to enter or progress within the teaching profession.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Flexibility to travel between schools in Surrey and West Sussex.
