Test Manager – Business Acceptance Testing

About the role

This is a 5‑month contract (with possible extensions) for a Test Manager to lead business acceptance testing on a high‑priority financial systems project. The role is based in Reading with one day per week on‑site and the remainder remote.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of business acceptance testing, from planning and preparation through execution and closure.
• Facilitate clear communication between testing teams, project managers, developers and business analysts.
• Monitor testing progress, track quality metrics and manage the defect lifecycle to ensure timely resolution.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and industry best practice, identifying and mitigating risks to timelines and deliverables.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Test Manager, preferably within insurance, life & pensions or broader financial services.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to deliver confidence and structure across a complex testing engagement.
