Test Technician

About the role

Based in South Essex, you will join a well‑known manufacturing company that designs, builds and installs automated machinery for multiple industries. The business is expanding rapidly and is looking for an experienced Test Technician to become part of the manufacturing team.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, industrial networking and ancillary automation systems.
• Execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) in line with regulatory protocols.
• Carry out test protocols generated by the design team.
• Complete all relevant test documentation accurately.
• Report incidents, deviations or failures identified during testing.
• Liaise with customers' validation teams during factory acceptance and on‑site testing.

Required profile

• Previous experience of formal testing on production lines.
• Experience testing automated equipment and machinery.
• Understanding of PLCs and HMIs is advantageous.
• Formal engineering qualification.
• Ability to work independently or within a team.
