Therapeutic Mentor – Long‑Term Temporary to Permanent

About the role

Reed Education is partnering with a specialist therapeutic education setting to hire a Therapeutic Mentor. You will work with young people aged 11‑18 who need additional emotional, behavioural and educational support, helping them achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong, positive, professional relationships with students.
• Provide consistent support inside and outside the classroom.
• Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies.
• Encourage engagement in education and personal‑development activities.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists and other professionals.
• Help create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Support students in developing life skills, confidence and independence.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, care or support settings.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential.
