Therapist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Therapist to work across two children’s homes in Houghton‑le‑Spring. You will join a multidisciplinary clinical team delivering therapeutic support to young people with complex needs, including developmental trauma, neuro‑developmental conditions and special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualised therapeutic interventions based on clinical assessment and formulation.
• Assess and monitor young people’s mental health, contributing to personalised care plans.
• Support educational and residential staff to create therapeutic living and learning environments.
• Deliver counselling, track progress and give feedback to young people and the team.
• Participate in case discussions, supervision and multidisciplinary meetings.

Required profile

• Qualified therapist (e.g., CBT, counselling, or related mental health qualification) with experience working with children and young people.
• Understanding of SEND, developmental trauma and neuro‑developmental disorders.
• Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
