Threat Research Intern (6-month)

About the role
We are seeking a motivated Threat Research Intern to join our Bristol team for a six‑month placement. You will contribute to cutting‑edge security data analytics research, helping the threat research group understand, track and mitigate endpoint threats across hardware, firmware and software.
Key responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of state‑of‑the‑art research in endpoint security.
- Identify and analyse new security‑relevant events and data sources.
- Design and build tools for tracking endpoint threats, including use‑case demos.
- Collaborate with researchers and technologists to prototype and demonstrate innovative solutions.
- Navigate research uncertainties and explore novel technological paths.
Required profile
- Currently studying towards a Doctoral, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical mindset with a keen interest in security research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Python scripting.
- Hands‑on experience with Unix/Linux systems and network configuration.
- Familiarity with security data analytics concepts.
