Trade Compliance Coordinator – Customs & Import/Export

About the role

Our client, a leading international freight forwarding and logistics organisation, is seeking a Trade Compliance Coordinator to join their Heathrow team. The role focuses on ensuring accurate customs reporting, tariff classification and compliance with UK and EU regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Trade Compliance reports and KPIs accurately and on time.
• Determine correct tariff classifications for brands moving from the EU.
• Issue UK‑specific import guidance and liaise with HMRC.
• Complete Import, Export, Transit, ICS and ENS declarations.
• Audit and monitor entries for import/export legislation compliance.
• Maintain the CITES portal and upload relevant certificates.
• Create and update SOPs and written procedures.
• Identify workflow efficiencies with the line manager.
• Report sales leads and conduct ad‑hoc spot checks.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

Required profile

• Experience in customs or trade compliance within a large organisation or brokerage.
• In‑depth knowledge of UK & EU customs regulations and documentation.
• Understanding of commodity codes, Incoterms, valuation and preference.
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proactive, deadline‑driven attitude in a busy environment.

Required skills

• Intermediate to strong Excel proficiency.
