Trading Manager – Food & FMCG

About the role

The Trading Manager will lead the national management of food and FMCG categories for a leading UK retail organisation. Working in a hybrid model, you will be responsible for supplier negotiations, category planning and delivering margin and availability across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead national supplier negotiations for assigned food/FMCG categories.
• Develop and implement category and promotional plans to drive sales and margin.
• Manage cost price increases while protecting profitability.
• Forecast and deliver supplier income targets.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to agree product ranges and availability.
• Analyse commercial data to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Trading, Buying or Category Management role within food or FMCG.
• Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical ability.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects.
• Must be able to commute to Harrow easily.
