Trading Manager

About the role

The Trading Manager will ensure optimal product availability and standards across all store departments, contributing to an excellent customer experience. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will lead a team to deliver high‑performance trading operations in a busy supermarket environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the trading team to achieve the best possible shopping experience.
• Plan and organise promotions and in‑store events.
• Monitor customer feedback and respond promptly.
• Maintain market‑leading product availability and compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with other store managers to drive performance across departments.
• Manage scheduling, absence, performance reviews and talent conversations for the department.
• Deliver training to build capability and confidence within the team.
• Identify and develop talent, building effective relationships with other operating departments.
• Ensure resources are planned thoroughly and targets are met.

• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer‑focus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other managers.
• Proactive problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
