Traffic Management Operative

About the role

Breedon Group plc is seeking three Traffic Management Operatives to join its Alba Traffic Management team in Newburgh, Fife. The role involves hands‑on installation, maintenance and removal of temporary traffic management systems on both high‑speed and low‑speed roads, supporting the safe movement of road users and the delivery of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and dismantle temporary traffic management equipment such as cones, signs, barriers, frames, sandbags and temporary traffic lights.
• Carry out routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and serviceability.
• Perform vehicle, equipment and site checks, reporting any defects promptly.
• Respond to planned and reactive traffic management needs, including emergency call‑outs.
• Work shift patterns that may include evenings, nights, weekends and on‑call duties.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping for vehicles, equipment and work areas.
• Represent Alba Traffic Management professionally, providing excellent customer service to clients, contractors and the public.

Required profile

• Previous experience on highways or in the construction industry is desirable.
• Lantra 12D or 12A/B qualifications are advantageous, though full training will be provided.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Willingness to work flexible shift patterns and on‑call duties.
